Job Description:
Senior level position to oversee a unit of 4-6 people and their respective compliance related roles. Manage NARS’ Compliance departments with ensuring adjusters handling of time limit demands and pleading responses are timely and appropriate. Monitor and assist with ensuring NARS’ Compliance department timely reviews urgent mail items and inboxes to efficiently and quickly ensure deadlines are added to NARS’ claims system. Oversee all data and metrics reviewed by NARS’ Compliance departments, ensure training is carried out with NARS’ Compliance department to comport with IT and data updates. Communicate with NARS’ claims departments to discuss trends relating to responses to demands, urgent mail items and pleading responses.
Mentor and assist the Compliance department in reviewing urgent mail, scheduling deadlines for adjuster’s relative to the handling of time limit demands and lawsuits and communicating with adjusters to ensure deadlines are protected. Establish and follow guidelines for ensuring Claims Managers and Claims Directors are appropriately alerted to time-sensitive issues to ensure all items are handled. Monitor multiple metrics and data sets to ensure the Compliance department timely meets goals. Communicate with the Legal Department to provide daily and weekly updates regarding the Compliance department’s performance and any areas of potential concern.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Effectively supervise a unit of 4-6 Compliance employees and their respective roles in a proactive manner while keeping a global view of metrics.
• Working with Compliance employees to ensure flexibility and movement within their positions, to keep a global view of all data and metrics and ensure all items are timely being handled.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of client, company, and personnel information.
• Works closely with the Legal Department to ensure company objectives are met.
• Works closely with the Legal Department to flag any claims of concern relating to defaults, default judgments, alleged claims of bad faith and/or discussions of depositions of NARS’ personnel.
• Review and respond to inquiries relating to the tracking of demands having been answered as well as responsive pleadings.
• Adhere to the policy and procedures of NARS.
• Lead and manager by example to promote a culture of service and continuous improvement.
• Ensure Compliance employees participate in and execute NARS’ required annual training.
• Provide leadership to achieve key business goals.
• Communicate clearly and provide adequate direction.
• Track trends relating to deadline adherence by various departments and communicate with departments and the Legal Department regarding any changes.
• Effectively manage corrective action processes in accordance with Human Resource guidelines.
• Maintain tracking logs/calendars and reports relating to outstanding demands and answers.
• Monitor, review and assess NARS’ e-mail boxes relating to lawsuits and demands to ensure that lawsuits and demands are properly logged, tracked, and distributed to the appropriate file handlers.
• Communicate with NARS’ adjusters to obtain updates on time limit demands and pleadings and ensure NARS’ claims system is updated appropriately.
• Monitor upcoming trial dates and ensure NARS’ adjusters are aware of trial roundtable calls.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization.

• Provide needed support for Legal/Compliance on special projects.
Team:
• Conduct periodic one-on-one meetings to discuss goals/aspirations, skill set analysis and development needs.
• Routine analysis of staffing to determine if there is training and development needed.
• Attend weekly meetings with the Compliance team to discuss trends and to work on goals, cover successes and areas of opportunity for improvement.
• Create individual development plans and written training plans where appropriate.
• Coordinate HR functions with HR and the Department Director regarding progressive discipline.
• Handle performance evaluations, attendance reporting and miscellaneous personnel issues.
• Complete employee PE reviews within requested timeframe and IDP and training plans included. Follow up with employee if not meeting deadlines.
Work Environment Requirements:
• This role requires extended periods of computer screen usage for tasks such as data entry, research, and virtual meetings.
• The ability to maintain focus and productivity while working for long hours in front of a screen is essential.
Qualification Requirements:
Education / Licensing:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required, 2-year degree or higher preferred.
• Must have 2+ years of claims/data entry experience or 1+ years or claims/data entry experience PLUS 1+ year of experience in litigation work
• Preferred 2+ years of Supervisory experience or similar/related experience in an appropriate field.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Florida Adjuster’s license or other required jurisdictional licensing.
Technical Skills:
• Advanced level of Microsoft Office – Excel and Word.
• Ability to work in claims handling software systems.
• Ability to use Microsoft Teams’ calendar and chat functions.
• Advanced ability to work independently.
• Advanced level of organization and time management skills.
• Advanced level written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced level of communication with managers and colleagues.
• Must be able to analyze claims data and explain and appropriately respond to management and Directors regarding history and chronology of claims as it relates to receipt of demands or receipt of lawsuits.
• Must be detail oriented and comfortable with calculating due dates.
• Advanced understanding litigation and defaults and time limit demands.
Abilities:
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Willingness to work evening hours if needed to ensure all deadlines are met.
• Repeated use of keyboard, mouse, and exposure to computer screens from either a desktop or laptop computer.
• Requires long periods of sitting.
• Willingness to engage in verbal/phone communications with colleagues.
