Job Description:

Experienced Oracle Database Administrator with expertise in Oracle Enterprise Edition, Oracle Standard Edition, Linux administration, and AWS-hosted Oracle environments. This role requires strong skills in managing database performance, availability, and security, along with the ability to support integration tools and collaborate closely with internal teams and vendors.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Database Administration
    • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Enterprise Edition and Oracle Standard Edition databases.
    • Implement and manage database schema, tables, procedures, permissions, clustering, replication, and failover strategies.
    • Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance for maximum efficiency.
    • Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
    • Install and test database upgrades, security patches, and hotfixes.
    • Support SQL Server environments as needed.
  • Linux Administration
    • Perform Linux server provisioning, configuration, and maintenance.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve Linux OS and server-related issues.
    • Implement security best practices and monitoring solutions on Linux servers.
  • AWS Cloud Support
    • Administer and support Oracle EE and Linux systems hosted in AWS.
    • Implement plans and migration for Data Guard.
    • Configure AWS services to support database high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Integration Support
    • Work with integration tools to connect Oracle databases with business applications.
    • Support data flow processes and troubleshoot integration-related issues.
    • Collaborate with development and application teams to optimize system integrations.
  • Operational Support
    • Provide 24/7/365 on-call support for critical systems as needed.
    • Maintain capacity monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
    • Document all processes, procedures, and system configurations.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure minimal downtime and high service availability.

 

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of DBA experience, including Oracle Enterprise Edition and Oracle Standard Edition.
  • Strong Linux administration skills in production environments.
  • Proven experience managing Oracle databases in AWS cloud.
  • Experience with database integration tools and middleware solutions.
  • SQL Server DBA experience preferred.
  • Oracle Data Guard, Linux, Oracle Enterprise, MS SQL, WildFly, VMWare, AWS Experience
  • Linux shell scripting and automation.
  • AWS EC2, S3, and IAM security best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
